Bitter sweet
Today I had my last IEP meet for my son Glen. He will be out of the school system in May, then he will go to a day program, and then to a group home.
My boy is grown.
My son is grown and cannot take care of himself. His father and I have worked ourselves silly trying to make him the best version of him we can make. But I still worry about his future after we are gone.
And two years later there will be Rachel.
My heart is sad to think of them alone after we are gone. But Bill and I have tried to give them the best childhood we could I don't know what else we could do.
I love you Glen Fox. I hope we are doing the best for you.

Exactly. Truly a bittersweet moment for the both of us. We can only try our best for them, and work to see that they have comfortable lives free from neglect and abuse.
ReplyDeleteYou are an AMAZING mom to Glenn and Rachel. They are so very lucky to have you (and Bill) for parents. There are children not special needs less adjusted that your sweet babies.
ReplyDeleteLife happens, and you have given them the very best start!
